The object is to get a winning hand—a pair of 10s or better—by combining your three personal cards with the two community cards shared by all players.
In the first round of betting, the player, based on his knowledge of his three personal cards, must decide whether to let the entire bet ride or to pull back one of the three bets.
In round two the dealer flips one of the community cards and the player must again decide, this time based on the four cards known to him, whether to let the remaining bet ride or to pull back another bet.
In the last round of betting the second community card is revealed completing the players’ five card hands. Each player now has either one, two or three bets still in play.
Any player holding a pair of 10s or better will win on each of the remaining bets separately, according to the Payout table. Players whose hands do not make the cut will lose all remaining bets.
Example
John is dealt an 8, 9, and 10. He feels this hand is a bit weak and retracts one bet. The first community card is a Jack. Suddenly things are looking much better with both a good enough pair and a straight within reach, so he decides to let the rest of his bet ride. The second community card is a Queen completing John’s straight.
A straight pays 5 to 1 so John wins 5 times the money on both his remaining bets!
